The scammer uses bait and switch. You think you're ordering an item but they send you a very cheap item claiming that's what you ordered. They make you feel safe by offering PayPal. When you file a claim with PayPal the seller says they will refund once you return the item to China, although it's shipped from California. The shipping to China is almost or as much as you paid originally. And the return address is also in Chinese... In my case i ordered a grennhouse and received a pair of very cheap gloves.

Saw an ad on Facebook for a green house targeted at a Washington Gardening Group. Clicked the link which described an aluminum walk in green house for $23.98 plus $12.35 shipping.

In the process of the purchase they ask for shipping and contact information. I have received SPAM text messages every day since placing my order. Instead of a greenhouse as described, I received a pair of gardening gloves. I contacted the seller and he told me that this is what I ordered and that I would need to return it back to him in China with tracking at my own costs in order to receive a refund. To ship the gloves back would cost more than the refund.

This is a total scam to collect money and also collect data for SPAM use.

I saw a targeted facebook ad for a company that was going out of business and selling small greenhouses at a highly discounted rate. I ordered one. Instead of a greenhouse, I received a very cheap pair of gloves. The seller claims that it was my fault because I chose the wrong item from the drop down menu, however, the word gloves never doesn't appear anywhere on the page and is only visible in the drop down menu if you do not have the browser window at full screen. They refused to refund my money unless I paid the shipping to return the gloves. They also lied to me about shipping fees, saying that they paid over $20 to ship the item to me, while the packaging shows they paid for light weight shipping, which maxes out at $3.20.
