This started as an attempt to purchase a german shepherd dog from Jonesport, ME, USA. The facebook account in question is that of Grace Mora, linked with two services- german shepherd puppies for rehoming and german shepherd puppies for rehoming in your area. We put a 300 deposit on a puppy, additional 200 dollars sent for a final vets checkup, she requested an additional 150 for the remaining balance for the dog- we stopped sending money after the 200 dollar veterinary checkup. The dog was scheduled for delivery on wednesday, March 6, 2024. We sent our info for transfer of ownership of the dog, and Grace mentioned she was on her way to deliver the dog. We then recieved an email from Royal Route Courier Inc. Asking for 899 deposit on a refundable shipping/delivery insurance policy to be paid by an online pay service- CashApp, the email also claimed the 899 would be refunded in cash which makes me wonder if this is some sort of money laundering business and not a full scam if they're claiming a cash refund. We did not send the 899 to the courier service, I contacted Grace Mora requesting we pick the puppy up or we recieve a full refund of the funds already transfered through CashApp, to which she replied she doesnt understand, after back and forth for a bit she agreed to a refund and has not refunded the money. I gave her a deadline of 1800 eastern standard time, it is now 2300. I have reported her page on facebook along with the CashApp account i transfered money to.
