I applied for a remote part time position posted on LinkedIn. I was contacted by a "Douglas Gibson" via LinkedIn Chat. he communicated that if I were still interested in the position please send an email with my contact info to [email protected]. within a few days after sending the email I received a response stating I had been approved for the position. Yet it had interview questions that were requesting PII like what bank I used. IT also asked for my contact information which I had previously provided. I googled the organization and viewed the website. they had 4 accreditations like the Society of American Military Engineers, yet when I looked up the company on that website the company wasn't listed. I googled the company again and found a phone number. They said they only worked with government organizations in building. I am a prior defense contractor and a current GS-11 with BLM. I asked for their DUNS or UIE used in SAMS. They connected me to HR. The person whom answered for HR said they would get back to me . after a few hours I had not been contacted so I called them back. then I was told someone had hacked Doug's account and were conducting ID theft. I checked LinkedIn and the account was still up.

Most corporations looking to do business with the federal government have contact numbers available on their website and this one did not.
