April 22nd 2022, I applied for an online remote personal assistant position. I submitted my resume and completed the assessment required for the position. Within 3 days I was emailed for the opportunity to interview. I was advised to add a Mike Robert on Skype. The email reads as follows: "Dear Applicant, Our recruitment team from (RPM GLOBAL) viewed your resume published online (Indeed) . Application: Administrative Assistant and Data Entry Clerk, Customer Service, Operations Manager, Projects Manager, Virtual Assistant, Information Technology, Accounting Clerk ,Front Desk, Receptionist, (Full Time/ Part Time) and we are pleased with your qualification and we believe you have the required qualification to undergo an online interview.($35 per hour). We are looking for a responsible Customer Service, Administrative Assistant and Data Entry Clerk, to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks from home. Duties of the Administrative Assistant or Data Entry include providing support to our managers and employees, assisting in daily office needs and managing our company’s general administrative activities. We offer medical and dental insurance, long-term disability, sick leave, life insurance, 401K, and profit sharing are available. We would like to schedule an interview with you right now if possible. The online interview will be conducted over the "Skype messenger" app, install the app (Skype) from your AppStore i.e for smartphone OR for PC visit https://www.skype.com/en/ to set up an account, it is fast and easy. Once done, you are required to invite the Interview Manager to chat. His name is Mr Mike Please search by clicking the search bar , after that you are to message him requesting an interview. Also if you have the Telegram App you can add him with @hiring_manager_mike and send him an invite for the interview . Your verification code is (SUFUL-h529). We look forward to meeting with you Thank you. Best Regards Mr Patti Airoldi Recruitment Team RPM GLOBAL." I then went to Skype began the interview process and was assured that everything would be remote, online and very much so at my convenience because of the virtual aspect. The first day of conversing with Mike went into the afternoon almost until 7pm and then ended without notice. The following day we began and the interview questions rolled in, mind you this is all without seeing one another but messaging back and forth. Discussions of what was to be expected as an employee, the vague work that the company is known for without any true explanation of what the company does and how soon I could work would transpire. We also discussed the downloading of materials needed and funding that would be coming in as a result. The things that were very weird to me include the following: - Asking the same questions I answered above within seconds of me sending them. - Never utilizing the verification code given at the end of the email. - Hours of sitting online with no reply. - Never seeing Mike's face on a video messaging forum. - Looking up the address to verify the corporation. - Asking me to send a screenshot of the verification of the check once submitted .The check coming from them before my offer letter and forms. - The offer letter coming the day AFTER it was said to be in my inbox. - The "Official" water marks on the document: they look copy and pasted OVER one another and not THROUGH. Looking up Mr. Patti Airoldi only to find out SHE is a WOMAN/ HR manager at RPM GROUP not GLOBAL out of ARKANSAS not COLORADO. - RPM Global being a mining company located out of Australia with the only global location for Colorado being Denver 7887 East Belleview Avenue, Suite 1100, Denver, Colorado 80111, USA (Phone: +1 303 986 695) - My mother's investigation on ScamPulse.com and seeing the complaint of this corporation the same day I applied for the position. I was willing to take the risk because I knew I would never be able to pay for anything without being compensated first. It was while waiting the 3rd and doing more digging that I recognized the name on the check sent I could not make out because it was not printed underneath, the addresses were not adding up and the replies from Mike Robert were becoming slower and slower upon my questioning.
