Online presence advertising sale of bichon frise puppies. Offered signed contract with specific details. Phone number didn't allow a direct call, however, owner would immediately call back. Owner would email and then follow up with a text. We signed and faxed back the documents and the owner would only accept payment via Zelle. Our bank initially blocked the payment, however, we believed the owner to be legitimate and worked with our bank to allow the payment to go through. Today we received another email/text from a logistics company requiring payment almost twice the amount of the dog for delivery, however, the cost of the shipping was believed to be in the purchase price of the animal. Investigating websites and challenging the delivery fee (again only could be paid by Zelle) determined this was not a legitimate enterprise.
