Type of a scam Online Purchase
I thought I purchased an adorable Pomeranian puppy online. Instead, I gave $700 to some criminals who have an elaborate scam going on. I inquired about a puppy through the website. I had many communications with "Ryan" who assured me my puppy would be safely delivered to my door for the agreed price. We signed a contract and everything was moving forward. He was very reassuring and sent me a video of the supposed puppy. He even texted me the morning of the day the delivery was supposed to happen letting me know I would be contacted by the shipping company with flight details. Instead I was contacted by the "shipping company" (which you cannot find online) telling me I needed to send them $1500 as a deposit for a thermal crate. The man stated a new law was passed requiring the special crate due to the weather. Keep in mind, this was the next day after I purchased the puppy. I would only be renting the crate (for $50), but needed to pay the whole amount as a deposit. I would get the $1450 back in cash upon receiving the puppy (yet the Zelle account was in Colorado).This would be for an item that would never be in my possession. I had been previously assured by Ryan, that the puppy would be travelling in a temperature controlled cabin - so why would I need this crate? When I told them I wasn't paying, they told me I would be charged with animal abandonment because I had signed a contract and the puppy was legally mine. They even sent me an email stating this...and the payment for the crate was to go to the same person I paid for the puppy. These criminals play on your emotions and tell you everything you want to hear in order to take your money.
