I'm a senior with limited income. If the counterfeit cashier's check would have been approved, I could be in alot of trouble. Thank goodness my companion checked this out and told me it's a scam.

My companion also figured out that the USPS Priority Mail postage paid account is most likely being scammed and/or a part of the bigger scam.

Naturally being strapped for money, I signed the check, added the proper note under my name and Electronically Deposited in my Bank Account.

I was sent a check in the mail for $1470 and told that I had been selected as a secret shopper. I was to cash the check or deposit it into my bank account then keep $270 for myself and take the balance to 1 or 2 Walmart stores in my area and purchase a total of $1200 in $200 gift cards all at one time. Then I was to let them know if I had a problem purchasing that much in gift cards at one time and let them know at this company by texting them. After I made the purchase I was then supposed to send the company a copy of the gift cards, scratch off the silver strip & send that to them as well, along with a copy of the receipt. If I did this before 2 days I would get a $100 bonus before the next assignment. I took the check to the bank to ask them if it was a scam and they said yes! I figured by the time the check came back as no good on my account the purchase and information would be already sent to them and I would be out $1470. I did not give the company any of my info for my bank, social etc. but had the bank shred the check
