I'm an Uber driver. I received a ride request to pick a passenger up at a mental facility and take him to a rehabilitation center. During the trip the guy who set up the trip was sending me messages in the Uber app saying he works with a company called ryydes and they provide rides strictly for rehabilitation centers and was looking for drivers. He stated that the have around 5-7 trips a day in my area and would pay me $1.30 per mile for the trips I do. The guy gave me his number and I looked up the company name he gave me and they have a website so I thought it was a legit company. He said they pay daily by 12am using cashapp or PayPal. The next day the guy, his name is Jason, sends me a client's information to pick them up and take them to Avenues rehabilitation center in Clarksville IN. On my way to pick up that client, Jason reaches out and says that person has canceled but I would still be paid $60 because I was on my way to pick them up but he had another patient that needed to be picked up and taken to the rehabilitation center and would pay me $50 for that trip. He sends me that person's information and when I arrived at their pick up location the patient advised she was at the hospital and not at the house address Jason had provided. I called Jason to advised this and he said he would look into and get back with me. Jason then sends me a text saying the patient was at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany IN and he would pay me an additional $75 to go there and pick her up to take her to the Avenues rehabilitation center. I was able to pick the patient up at the hospital and take them to the Avenues rehabilitation center. I waited until 8am the next day and did not receive payment. I reached out to Jason at the number he was texting me on and he never responded or answered my calls. I went back to the website and noticed it is a very generic website and just established this year and the number listed is different from the one Jason is using. I called that number and no one answered. I believe this company is a front and they are getting real contacts to transport patients to the rehabilitation center and using Uber drivers to do the transportation but not paying us, just like I didn't get paid. I have all the text messages communication showing the location of the clients ane what I was to be paid and also how the responses stop coming. Please help me get the word out so that this doesn't happen to anyone else.
