I received a call from someone stating they were from SAB Associates posing as an attorneys office/debt collector. They had my name, and the last 4 of my social. They asked if I were aware that I owed over $1,400 for a payday loan from 2018 that I have not paid. They also stated they mailed me correspondence that I never replied to, and that I have a pending court date on 4/2/24. When I stated that I have never taken out a payday loan, the woman on the phone told me that all bank accounts tied to my social security # would be frozen in 48 hours and demanded I tell her how I wish to settle the balance as they were wiling to settle the balance for half if I paid today. I asked her to provide the name of the payday loan company, the address the supposed correspondence was sent to and when. She stated that she does not have the name of the payday loan company on file, and would not acknowledge my questions about the mailed correspondence. She got angry when I asked for more information on her company and told me that I would be "served" papers at my job and home, and to ensure I provide 2 forms of ID when that does happen, and hung up. I have since received multiple calls from this scam company. * ******** ********* * **** ** *** *** *** ** ***************** ******* ***********. * **** ***** *** ********** *** *** ********** ** ****. My credit report is checked regularly, and this supposed debt has not shown up on any reports. More importantly, I have never taken out a payday loan before.
