I am awaiting a return from Saks Fifth Avenue and called customer service. My return credit is over 30 days overdue. Immediately after I spoke to the agent (who couldn’t help me) I got an email from the scam email. They had my order number, email, phone #, and knew the credit card type I used. They began asking me for personal information to “process my return”. I gave them my credit card info before realizing it was a gmail address. I fell for it as they already had quite a lot of my personal information. After my credit card information, they asked for a photo copy of my ID which is when I realized it was a scam. My belief is that the agent I spoke with shared my information with the person committing the scam. I’m sure they have done it to others as well. I tried to report it to Saks but they would not connect me to their security department.
