Type of a scam Online Purchase
We scheduled a delivery date/time. The day prior, I reached out to confirm that they were still good to deliver the puppy according to our previous discussion the day before. It was then that they indicated the veterinarian requires we pay the remainder of the money due ($500) before the ownership paperwork could be transferred to me. Once I outlined that we wouldn't be making an additional payment until the puppy was inspected and delivered and that ownership paperwork is signatory only, Saldana went silent for 26 hrs. When I threatened to report them to the authorities, after 3 dozen attempts to contact them, Maureen finally responded through text (they used the TextNow messaging service) and pleaded for my trust. She continued to request the remaining $500. Simultaneously, my boyfriend text Saldana inquiring about the puppies as a new buyer, unrelated to me. Saldana responded with the exact message, indicating that the full price was $600, not $1000. They were about to begin a scam with him as well.
