FACTS
On the day (06/29/22) I received a call from Smart Connection Company, which offered me an iPhone 13 Pro Max for $485.00 (taxes included) (same item that in the conventional market is at a cost of around $1,100 + taxes). For which I agreed to the purchase.
The day (06/29/22) when the purchase was made and the day after it, I was calling them insistently, because it seemed suspicious to me that the numbers from which their officials called me to make the sale, were numbers out of service , to which no no calls coming in, then I called the phone that appears on their website (Number that does not have any assigned area code), in which a half-asleep person who did not identify himself or answer in a corporate way (This person didn't even know what I was asking about.) The next day I call again and music plays but no one answers.
On Tuesday, July 5, they send me a message saying that my order is on its way and that I have to have a money order ready for the value of 485.00 (taxes included) corresponding to the iPhone 13 Pro Max item.
That same day an official from the Smart Connection company communicated, to whom I explained that I want to cancel the purchase and the reasons why I made this decision and she tells me that I can no longer cancel and that they are going to send the order. Regardless of the distrust I expressed in front of the company, she did not give me any explanation about it and hung up on me.
It should be noted that when I told the official that I had been calling them repeatedly, she confirmed that no calls were received at those numbers. This further entrenched my mistrust.
Nonexistent phone numbers, nonexistent officials, no one to confirm anything at all. I believe that I have every right to distrust, retract for my own safety cancel any type of business that seems suspicious to me, since, apparently, I have no guarantee that I am not being the victim of some fraud.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, when they communicate I receive a rather aggressive and intimidating message where they threaten me with the application of charges and fines for something that I have never received up to now, all under the argument that I simply could not cancel the transaction.
Alleging that I did not answer them and rejected their calls, something that is slander because this never happened and I am the most interested in clarifying the situation.
I felt harassed and attacked, and I also think that they should have first found out the reasons why I canceled and managed a conciliation (prior guarantee of my financial security), instead of acting so lightly.
I would not have had any problem accepting the order, if they guarantee me that I am buying from a serious and legal entity, where I can verify that it is a real company and not a shell company, that they give me some reliable information about the Company, and that you are selling me a real, legal, new and guaranteed product; however, the only thing I have received from the Smart Connection Corp Company is quite abusive, aggressive and threatening treatment.
Then, on July 13, I received a call from a supposed lawyer representing the company in question, to whom I expressed my concern, she gave me peace of mind and convinced me that it was a real and legal company. Therefore, I agreed to continue with the purchase.
She told me that she should go to FEDEX to pick up the package and give a money order for $485.00.
After giving the money order for the value they asked me for, they gave me the package which I opened immediately and to my surprise and what I feared was actually a scam, instead of receiving an iPhone 13 Pro Max which was what I had agreed, I received a Chinese phone that does not cost even 20 dollars and seemed like a toy.
Minutes later another official calls me to supposedly activate a cell phone plan that came free with the phone. I explain to this person the situation of what I have received and he tells me that there was an error and that they are going to change my phone. Supposedly the change would be on Tuesday, July 19. Change that was never made and in my opinion with this situation of changing the phone they were buying time to receive the money order and disappear. Well after this they did not answer the phones or answer the chats.
I make this complaint to investigate those who are taking advantage of the naivety of honest and hardworking people who earn money honestly and with much effort.
I am hopeful that by going to entities like yourselves, impunity for these criminals can be avoided, since one should not come to the United States to commit crimes. And the people who communicated with me spoke to me all the time in Spanish; that is, of Latin origin like me.
