Samsung wanted to communicate by text only. They said they couldn't process an exchange and could only do a refund. Then came three days of non-stop harrassment by these people. The high pressure was for me to 1) sent photos or video of the model serial number sticker in the fridge, which "represented the refund value of the machine," and 2) to click the link to citibank for payment of the refund, but the link led to an unsecured url with multiple warnings on my PC. When I called Citibank about the url they told me it was absolutely fake, were very concerned, and wanted to know the email address of who sent the link to me. Citi said it was impossible for them to send anyone money like that, in Samsung's name and repeated that it was a scam for personal banking info. Of course, we have received no refund. Online search shows hundreds of similar cases: Samsung citibank scam. Seems like the Refund Department of Samsung has gone rogue and is redirecting refund payments elsewhere through the unsecured page in Citibank's name.
