We were trying to wire transfer a planned payment to our kitchen remodel designer and her account was hacked so that the criminal began emailing as if they were the real company. They inserted their own bank account wire transfer information and out bank sent it to the scammer. We have tried to claw back the money, which went to Wells Fargo in Texas and then to a small community bank and was then liquidated. We have had no support from law enforcement, our designer threatened to stop our project for non payment even when they knew we had been robbed. The design company, Arizona Design Kitchen and Bath in Tucson, has refused to cooperate in the investigation and insists it is not their fault. Our bank is also saying it wasn't their fault. There is not help for us. We are retired and on a fixed income. This took more than a year's worth of income from us and that lack of invested money will have a long term negative effect on our ability to live a secure retired life. No one is going after these criminals and that is another crime compounded on the initial devastating theft.
