Scammer used my Facebook profile photo to create an Instagram account with my name followed by a number. He sent multiple people who were my Facebook friends a message asking them if they heard about SANGO giving out grants. The then try to persuade them into opening the link, sending money/ apple cards. Once the victim clicks on the link another person requests their name, last four numbers of SSN, DOB, address, phone number, and Instagram user name. My father fell for the scam and sent $1500 in apple cards and provided all the requested information. Multiple people reported the fake Instagram account and I tried reporting it multiple times but continued to receive issue processing request but they are working on resolving the issue message. Apple verified the account that the cards were sent is a fraudulent account.
