Scam

Got a fax to our business claiming a deceased client and I share the same last name and that they need help claiming the inheritance before the government does and I will get 40% they will get 50% and 10% will go to a charity that we agree on. It says I will have to contact by email or fax with my full name, private number and email and then once I do that will receive the details on how to proceed with the deposit claim. Do people actually fall for this? Does this type of scam even work?

Our business received a fax offering 30% of a 50 million dollar inheritance. An individual was targeted. They ask for help claiming funds from a deceased persons account. They state there are no relatives to be found and the individual targeted has the same surname as the deceased. They ask for the individuals full name, private telephone number and email. They strongly advise first contact with them via fax or email. The GUARANTEE that the process will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that would legally protect us from from a breach of law.
