The letter itself was pink so as to draw attention and had a very short deadline. The letter also indicated that I should contact them to ensure no lapse in warranty coverage. "By neglecting to activate your coverage you will be at risk of being financially liable for any and all repairs after your factory warranty expires. However, you still have time left to activate your service contract on your vehicle before it's too late." "No other notices will be sent for this offer." This was my 2nd notice. My vehicle is a new 2 month old vehicle. It is not in danger of a warranty lapse.
This was an obvious attempt to heighten tension and instill a false sense of urgency to entice me to call them. I did not. Had I done so, I have no doubt that some form of sale attempt would have occurred. I didn't phone them just to listen to the expect pitch simply because I didn't want to provide them my phone number if they don't already have it.
