I reached out to a seller named Sarah ******** regarding a post on Facebook for a vehicle with a purchase price of $1,500, 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71. She contacted me via email for my request for more information. Once I received the information with photos, I confirmed I was interested. She stated all transactions will be through eBay. The next few days I received emails from both her and eBay regarding the purchase. I followed all directions of purchasing eBay gift cards and uploading them. I was sent confirmation of successful payment every time. I was even given and order ID number. I was then told I had to pay a shipping insurance of $1,000 and a Customs tax of $1,000. I was assured that these fees would be reimbursed to me once the vehicle was delivered. So again, I followed the same method before, obtained gift cards and uploaded those photos to the email for eBay. It got to a point where I was told by eBay and Sarah that I had to pay an additional $800 for the shipping driver to continue transporting the vehicle. I questioned the validity, even pointed out that all cost were supposed to be covered by the seller, besides the $1500 for purchase, and asked for a tracking number. I was told I will only receive one once the payment of $800 was received and then the driver would send me a tracking number. I contacted eBay after the last response, and they were the ones that told me I was scammed and what to do after in hopes of recovering my loss.
