So my friend and I were targeted by the same person. Unfortunately my friend got scammed. The person who contacted us was on Instagram under the name @woo_d_al and @guslergallery > please note that I am pretty sure they like to change their Instagram handle name. They also go by W S Paints, and Rebecca Guslar (her Instagram handle is @gusler_rebecca or/and @rebecca_gusler) So this person contacts us saying that they really like a photo of ours and that they want to pay us $500 to use our photo. After you agree they send you an eCheck. The eCheck though is not for $500 it’s actually made out for $1500. My friend told them the check was more then what was agreed on, but the Rebecca person said to go ahead and deposit the check. So my friend does. Then the Rebecca person sends multiple messages demanding $1000 back. After my friend sent the $1000 back, the Rebecca person said “oh we want to use 2 more images of yours so we would like to pay you $1000 for the 2 images.” Unfortunately my friend said ok. Then the Rebecca person sends a check for $2500 not $1000, and my friend unfortunately deposits the check. Then my friend’s account gets frozen and the bank calls her saying that fraudulent activity has been noted on her account so now her assets are frozen till further notice. Meanwhile, the Rebecca person is demanding my friend to send the $500 back from the first transaction plus $1000 from the most recent check, but of course because the account is frozen she can’t do anything. After my friend tells this Rebecca person she can’t pay them because her account is locked, the Rebecca person goes off and spams her messages and then deletes all of these messages and then blocks her. Then they contacted me. Knowing my friend’s situation, of course I did not go through with the process but I was able to pull some information out of them. Attached is a screenshot of my conversation with them and they admitted to being a scam. The business that they are supposedly registered under is called Guslar Art, Inc. I hope you are able to do something about this as who knows how many people they have done this too.
