I was contacted on 12/20/22 by a woman named "Theresa Brown" she claimed to be a hiring manager from SARKS Logistic LLC. Theresa stated she found my resume on Indeed.com and wanted to offer me a position as a customer service manager. I accepted the offer. Theresa then sent me a "formal" application/contract. Due to the storm and a family emergency, it took me longer than normal to return the form however, I stayed in contact with Theresa during this time via email. Once the holidays were over, I returned the contract. The contract stated that I would be put on a two-week trial period and paid $26/hr to work from home. The next day (1/11/23), I received a call from the number listed on the site where a woman went over the job duties and rate of pay and asked me a few questions. Once the call was over, I received another email from Theresa that contained a 1099 form and a direct deposit form. I completed them both and returned them. I was told I would be sent a link to log in for training the next day (today). This morning I received another email from Theresa with the login instructions to download and log into Telegram. Once I saw Telegram was a texting app, I knew something wasn't right, so I started looking up the company on the internet. I found a SARKS Logistic here in the US but it had a different address and phone number. The REAL SARKS is located in Antonio, TX and has a phone number of (646) 207-2325. During the time I was logged into the Telegram chat Theresa, was sending me information about the position, she asked me to confirm my mailing address so they could get the equipment I needed to be sent to me. While she was doing that I was calling the real SARKS Logistics to ask about the job offer. I spoke to a gentleman who stated that the training and offer weren't real. He seems to be aware that individuals are trying to use their company to scam people. Once I received that information, I let the lady I was speaking to in the chat know that the gig was up. I screenshot the communication, blocked the lady and installed the app. I have several copies of a documents sent to me but your system only allows me to upload one.
