There was a posted in Indeed for a customer service remote position making $30+ an hour, applied on line directly on site, i was contacted a few days later 9/2/2021 after via email [email protected], had a skype virtual interview call with a lady named Ashley Ralph the same day, on 9/8/2021 they emailed me offering me the position. I was sent an offer letter (attached) and an employee direct deposit authorization form which was signed and returned to them via email. Through the next days i was messaging on skype with this lady regarding the position and supplies that would have to be purchased. They told me they would be sending me a check to purchase supplies needed. I received a $2450 check (i have a copy of check) via FedEx, which was deposited to my Chase account and then the lady had me purchase a work software, antivirus software, training software all paid via Zelle and apple pay. I never received any supplies from the company. My start date was suppose to 9/23/21, on 9/15 my bank notified me of the overdraft fees in my account; the check bounced and when i contacted the bank they told me that it was a fraudulent check. i immediately started to contact the lady Ashley and she at this point did not want to take my calls or messages, she was ignoring me and didnt want to answer me. I then received another FedEx check from the same company for $3850 with not explanation. I have been calling email and trying to get an explanation and no-one has reached out to me. I opened a fraud claim with my bank and i reported them to the police. My bank is looking into this but i will probably be responsible to pay back the fees incurred. please help others from getting scammed. I am a college student trying to make a living and make something out of myself. this is horrible.
