Type of a scam Online Purchase
"Thank you for your purchase!
Hi *********, we're getting your order ready to be shipped. We will notify you when it has been sent."
and it also has my order summary. Days go by and I still have not received confirmation of shipment. On May 8th I sent an email to the same email my order confirmation came from and i wrote: "Hello Sockhelpers, I'm wondering how long before my order ships?"
The business responded stating: "Hi. According to the United States Postal Service, they delivered your order:" and also included my tracking number, the time and date my package was delivered which was on May 6th at 4:31pm in my mailbox. When I checked it was nothing there, I went to the post office and i was told to contact the merchant. I wrote the business back and I stated : "I haven't received it yet. I didnt recieve a confirmation email either that it was sent either. The original email stated I would recieve confirmation."
Their response was: "Is the address correct? Did you contact your local post office and provide them with your tracking number and ask them where your package is? They posted that they delivered to the address you provided to us. Thanks."
I wrote back: "Yes, that address is correct. Yes, I went to the post office to locate the package. The representative stated that it was delivered to my mailbox. I stated that it was not there, the representative's response was there was nothing they could do about that and to contact the sender. When was my package shipped? Why was I not sent an email of shipment, as stated in the confirmation of purchase email?"
Their Response: "It was shipped on May 2. You can go to USPS.com and put in the tracking number:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
and then click on history to see the journey. I do not know why you did not get the email from our shipping warehouse. Perhaps it went to junk? Do you have an alternate address we can ship to since the address you provided is correct and the post office confirms they delivered it, but you didn't get it? Do you usually have an issue getting your mail and packages? Thanks.
My Response: "Thanks for letting me know. I have not had a problem recieving packages due to other companies I've purchased from sending me a confirmation of shipment, because it will also let me know when it should arrive and I have always stayed on top of it. This situation was different that I have never experienced before, while I was waiting for a confirmation of shipment it was already sent without my knowledge. Is the name of your shipping warehouse not associated with "backsolutionsstore"? No. I do not have an alternate address." - That was on May15th and they did not respond. Fast forward to May 23rd this is what I wrote to the business in the same email thread: "Hello I have not heard back about my missing order. Also I just checked my bank statements and I see that the was a charge made on may 12th for the amount of $24.97 that I did not approve of. I would like to speak someone immediately. This is extremely frustrating. Why would you make a charge without my consent? At this point all I want is my $24.97 back."
Their response: "Please take a look at the order form used when you placed your order. The terms for the free sock promotion are there. You could cancel at any time within the first 14 days and not get charged. Thank you." I will also include the picture file that the business sent to me in this email. **This file has a date of a card that is not linked to the card I used for purchase, and a rate I did not pay at the time of my only purchase ($6.95 for one pair)**
***Please keep in mind that at the time of purchase there was absolutely no mention of a membership, on the website there is no membership tab unless you click the "contact us" tab***
My response: "I would like to speak to someone. You sent me a file that I cannot view. I made a one time trial purchase not a reoccurring one. I will be reporting this to the better business bureau. Why on your website there is no tab, link, or a number to call "cancel" being charged again?"
So far that is the most recent email that I sent to them (May 24th at 6:24am) and they have not responded back yet.
