I recently had an issue with my sellers shop on etsy. I submitted a request to Etsy customer service. I was then contacted on the phone by a man claiming to be etsy support. He proceeded to use the e gift card that I had purchased to restore my account on purchasing etsy stock for himself. The number I was contacted by is also associated with Etsy's 2015 fillings to the us securities and exchange commission. I have reason to believe someone within this company is committing the scams.
