I purchased a home in 2015 that came with an excellent (but expensive) initial 12 month home owners warranty. As that initial warranty was reaching its expiration date, I searched online in order to compare rates with other companies before purchasing a new warranty. Secure Home Warranty, 1735 Market Street Suite 3750, Philadelphia, PA 19103 - https://securehomewarranty.com, seemed to have some of the best rates so I called them to discuss a new warranty. I wanted a one year contract but was pressured into a two and a half year year contract for the price of $1040. To date, this company always finds a way to force me to pay ALL or a portion of EVERY claim. I expected to pay the agreed upon $45 service call fee, but with each claim a Secure Home Warranty representative always contacts me AFTER the work order has been completed by the contractor with the information that I will need to pay the contractor myself out of pocket! This is NOT what was ever agreed upon and it is NOT what is written in the contract! For the last four weeks, no one from this company will return email requests for information ( [email protected] ). Today, no one will answer the phone for this company - even for new sales calls! From 9:00 AM until noon, someone would answer the phone and then hang up. Now when you call the 888 number, you just get a constant busy signal like the phone is off the hook. I fear that the whole company is nothing but a scam. I have spent $1811 out of pocket for home repairs that SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED by the contract in addition to paying the warranty contract price of $1040 for 30 months of homeowners coverage protection.

Purchase goes smoothly but cannot reach when you want home repair needed..home warranty company..first needed 1 year after purchase
