I was attempting to renew my US Passport and somehow got directed to a website (that I thought was still within the Government) that offered to help with the renewal process. I was charged $89 for Form filling service, 24/7 assistance, PDF Application Download and Detailed Instructions. Plus, $19.95 for a Passport Card and $19.95 for Priority Service! None of these fees had anything to do with the actual passport fees the government charges.

I'm not sure how I got linked over to this site. They are called USA Passport Application Assistance

They were posing as a government website and took my information. I am afraid they will sell my passport info to scammers and get my identity stolen
