The scammer claimed to be a recruiter for Seismic and I thought it was real because I had applied there a week prior. The scammer sent a job offer with great pay, benefits, and a welcome kit. They wanted me to set up a mini office and start work immediately. They also said I would receive a payment check which would be used to set up the mini office by purchasing office equipment and software needed to start training and work.
