I was contacted regarding a job I didn't apply for. But based on the role, I thought it was the type of job I would have applied for - project manager. I received an email at 5 pm my time setting up an interview time at 8 am the following morning. The interview was over MS teams, but the interviewer said we would do the whole thing via chat so there would be a record of the conversation. I was already suspicious, but knowing that MS Teams can record a transcript, this made me even more concerned. The interviewer asked some basic questions to which I provided brief answers. There were no follow up questions. Then he asked who I use for my phone service and whether it was pre or postpaid. I responded that it was an interesting question and was it relevant to the role. He said it was relevant because they needed to know my phone provider so they could know I had sufficient internet speed. Obviously, my phone provider and my internet provider need not necessarily even be the same thing. So, I ended the interview.
