Here is what happened.
Somebody claiming to be the celebrity Selena Gomez contacted me online, saying that her one and only bank account had been frozen due to hacking attempts on her account. She said that ALL OF HER LIQUID WEALTH was in this frozen account and that she wasn't able to withdraw any funds from this account. She said that she expected her account to be unfrozen by the end of February, and she said that she would reimburse me for all funds I sent her once her bank account was unfrozen. I sent funds to "Selena Gomez" to pay for a wide range of expenses including a Vogue cover shoot, basic medical care, rent, phone bills, and beyond. "She" also requested funds to cover an "ahead" fee for her lawyer that would enable a private investigator to investigate what happened to her frozen funds. I also paid her supposed bank account manager a trial deposit fee that would enable Selena to withdraw up to a certain amount of funds from her frozen bank account without further worry. I also paid Selena CMGA (Celebrity Meet and Greet Association) funds that would enable her to meet me in-person.
February has long passed. "Selena" still hasn't reimbursed for any of the funds above, and "she" has even refused to meet me in-person.
Since I stopped sending Selena gifts and money, "Selena" has continually requested:
1) funds to pay for a new episode of "Selena + Chef".
2) fees to pay for her private investigator to finish investigating what happened to the funds in her frozen bank account.
3) a new iPhone 13 pro max
If these requests came from an impersonator of Selena Gomez, I would like to be reimbursed in full.
If these requests came from THE REAL SELENA GOMEZ, I would like confirmation of whether Selena's stories are true. I would also like to meet her in-person.
Here are some additional details related to the story that I would like to report.
Selena claimed that her frozen bank account is held at the following website: accounts-rothdechild.com . She allowed me to log onto her account. The net worth in this account looked similar to Selena's publicized net worth. Also, the transfers into this account looked believable. This is partly what caused me to fall for Selena's stories.
Selena made several video appearances, without speaking to me with her voice. It's possible that these were fake, pre-recorded video appearances.
I sometimes reached out to Selena's official Instagram page. Whenever I did, Selena would message me online on another internet account. She would forward me the message that I sent to her on Insagram and reply to each message.
When I reached out to Taylor Swift's official Instagram page once to tell her about my situation with Selena, Selena messaged me online telling me about how I reached out to Taylor. It's possible that somebody received my messages to the real Selena Gomez on Instagram through hacking, either into Selena's account or into my account.
Selena also shared a photo with me that showed her holding a personalized note that was addressed to me. The note's handwriting looked like Selena's real handwriting.
She also sent me pictures of herself and her driver's license.

Rothschild and Company also informed me that they don't manage private bank accounts, like that of "Selena Gomez".
