I was selling tires on Facebook marketplace. He asked me for my cell number so he could make sure I was a verified seller. I was skeptical but gave him my number. Then his information disappeared from my messenger.

This is the second person that asked me for my cell number to verify if I was a real seller. When I gave my number, she said it didn’t work and asked if I had a family member’s phone number to get a verification code. I stupidly gave her my husbands number. Her number also disappeared from my text messages. I had several other people ask for my number but I had figured out what happened and told them I was reporting them.
