I was contacted by a person for an interview from my resume being posted on Indeed. She/he was claiming to be an HR Manager named Sarah Karlsson at Semcon AB. I did the interview on a messaging app named Telegram in which I was offered the position. I filled out the new employee paperwork (emailed to me) that looked entirely legit, since they were the typical government forms you would fill out for a new position. I was then told they would be sending me a check via FedEx overnight for me to deposit into my bank account. I was to use these funds to purchase software and equipment so I could work remotely. This didn't make sense to me. I would think that such a large company would be able to load their own laptops with the software and then send the equipment to me. I did research and found out that this was a typical scam. I let this Sarah Karlsson person know that I was going to be reporting them. Unfortunately, they got all my personal info from filling out the employee forms before I figured this all out. Please beware as I did research into the company after I was first contacted, and they were a legitimate, very large international company so I didn't suspect anything. These scammers are good!
