Similar experience to previous poster, but now it is November 15th, Sarah connected me to Mike using same available cats with the same names, we exchanged emails and arrangements. He asked to pay via Zelle that flagged it for fraud and that's where thankfully I stopped. Also address on his purchase contract mapped to "land" without a building on it. So no money lost

I was searching for a Russian Blue Kitten breeder. I found serenekittens.com. The website appeared very professional. The main page had a narrative about the cattery owners Sarah and Eugene on a 13 acre mini-farm It mimicked other breeder sites I viewed with information about the breeder, FAQs, pictures of their product, etc. The website advertised available kittens and promoted a discount. I emailed the listed email address [email protected] inquiring about the kittens. I received an immediate reply. Sarah advised her kittens were all sold and that I should contact the breeder she got her cats from who had kittens who was selling the kittens for $550 and that I should let him know I am looking for a pet and not a breeder. She included pictures of four kittens (Flea, Alex2, Alvin5, and Kiria). The name provided was Michael Foster ([email protected]). I then contacted the email and received a quick response confirming the price and that he and his wife were expecting a baby in two weeks and needed to rehome their kittens which was why the kittens were being sold for $550. I exchanged a few more emails with Mike, signed the contract and set-up the purchase. Paid for two kittens and shipping $1450 via Venmo (@pisu1 Polite Isu 7568). Mike emailed the following day that the kittens were delivered to the shipping company who would be in touch with me. I received an email from Giga Logistics USA Ltd ([email protected]) indicating that they received the kittens and were ready to ship today and requested confirmation of shipping information. The email also provided Dan Spenser as the contact 701-289-6988. After confirming the shipping information, I received a subsequent email saying the breeder delivered the kittens in a crate that wasn't suitable for flight and that I needed to pay $1550 for a proper travel crate and that $1500 would be refunded once the kittens were delivered. I then missed two calls from 701-289-6988. No voicemail was left other that a man saying "hello." I called the number back and got a Verizon message that the number was unavailable. This is when I realized I had been scammed. I googled the shipping company and found nothing. I googled serene kittens (the email Sarah used). The website came up in the search results. When I attempt to go to the sites it says the domain isn't connected to a website. Since my we browser saved cookies for the site I can still see information on the google page. I reported the fraud to Venmo and placed fraud alerts on my credit accounts.
