Type of a scam Employment
In october this guy on instagram, @william_baker_sfox, posted about earning money, $5000, by signing on with him to buy gift cards, making cash withdraws, taking pictures of the withdrawals, and depositing the money to his bitcoin wallet. He started sending money by depositing money to my bank account to complete the tasks. I thought this shouldn't take to much time out of my day. I tried completing his requests for a while but my bank started to lock my account because of the withdraws so I got worried and suspicious.
I tried asking him why he need to make so many large deposits but never gave me and answer. I also asked why the checks kept returning as NSF but all he said was to tell my bank everything was fine. I did this once then when his 4th check bounced in my account causing my account to go into a negative balance I changed my banking pin (November 3rd). The next morning I attempted to changed my username and password by my accounts were locked again. November 4th I filed an FTC scam report and tried calling my bank to tell them what happened. I tried calling multiple times over the next several days but was left on hold anywhere from 20 minutes - over an hour with no answer. November 9 I received a call during my working hours from my bank; they left a message saying "(we) are calling from USAA potential issue to confirm personal credentials...." I call them after work, wait 45 min to be told my accounts are being closed and will not be allowed to bank with USAA anymore.
I am in SHOCK. When I tell the lady on the phone that I have been trying to call for several days and tell her about what happened but all she did was raise her voice at me. I could not handle this treatment nor did I have time to have a long conversation with someone because I just got home from teaching 250 students all day and needed to take care of my family. NOvember 10 I call back in the morning and luckily got on the phone with someone who would listen to my story. She was very nice and I thought she had taken notes on what I said. I wait 24-48 hours to see if they reviewed the notes I thought the lady was take but I didn't hear back. So I try calling. 30 calls calling 4 different numbers and I finally get a hold of someone yesterday. They tell me I have an overdue bill and I need to make a payment. I tell them I have not been able to do anything because my accounts are locked from making payments and my paycheck from the 15th got deposited and I am trying to pay bills. They tell me that no one took notes from the conversation on November 10th which means no one listened to the report I had made. Frustrated and tired after making so many calls to only get transfered 4 different times and having to leave for class, I say I am going to call back another time. I clearly have made many attempts to make reports and clear things up with my bank but no one seems to be listening or taking me seriously. This is the first time anything like this has happened. I would like to keep my bank accounts where they are and not have to transfer all my automatic payments again. PLEASE HELP!!!!
