Received a message via Messenger from a what appeared to be a legitimate Facebook friend, that my friend received a $50,000 government grant, no strings attached, and that the check was cashed and cleared the bank. The subsequent messages from this government agency source, in trying to get some personal info from me had many typos and poor grammar. I was skeptical and called my friend who apparently sent me the initial message. My friend said she had not heard of this grant, nor messaged me. It is a scam, using legitimate friends to try to get others to join in the scam.
