This also happen to me with the same person. Same story but, North Sea by New York. I met me on the dating app coffee meets bagel.

Shawn claimed to be petroleum geologist working on an oil rig in the North Sea near Germany. Got me off the dating app on Facebook & onto Google Hangouts. Claimed quickly professing his love for me. Then he claimed his father was ill & needed to send home money, but couldn’t because the bank had a hold on his account. Then he started calling me his wife. At that point he said he was serious situation & needed to pay for the drilling project, but his money was still locked up. Needed up to $100,000. I stopped corresponding with him.
