I used a website for Sheraton Reservations to book a hotel room in New Orleans on May 26. I was charged a nonrefundable fee of $331.89. I quickly learned that the website was, in fact, run by an undisclosed third party ("General Reservations") that charged me $331.89 for a room for which the Sheraton charged only $224.94. "General Reservations" fraudulently represents itself as the Sheraton and overcharges unsuspecting consumers.
