Sheriff Impersonator Reports & Reviews (1)

Was called by a man on a Saturday claiming he was a Lt. with the Pima County Sheriff's Department. He left me a basic voicemail. Then he immediately called again. I answered. He claimed I missed jury summons. He asked my name by first providing my old divorced name. He then asked about an address (the address is my ex-husbands; one that I have never used nor have I ever been registered to). I kept having to ask him for clarification because I couldn't get what he was trying to say. He brought up again that I was sent Grand Jury Summons and I missed it and he asked if my address was (my ex-husbands). I said no, that is not my address. He said well someone at that address signed for my summons and I didn't show up. I was taking notes while he was talking and kept asking him to repeat himself. He seemed to get frustrated and said he's just going to get his supervisor to explain it to me. He then hung up on me. After a brief discussion from my husband and us determining it was a scam, I tried to call that number back. He didn't answer, nor has he tried calling me again. I verified on the Pima County website that they DO NOT call people if they missed their jury summons and that they have seen an increase in jury scams.
