I then called our local Sheriff’s Office to see if there was a Lt. John Stone that worked there. They told me no. I explained what happened, and they told me to call the Attorney General, because they don’t handle scam calls. (REALLY).
Then I received a call back from guess who? Lt. John Stone. He proceeded to tell me there was a bench warrant out for my arrest because I didn’t show up for jury duty. I told him I didn’t know anything about being called for jury duty. He said you didn’t get a letter from my assistant Pam? I said I sure didn’t. He asked if my address had change, or if I had moved. I said sure haven’t. He then told me to get something to write down where I needed to send money so I wouldn’t get arrested. I told him sure. I’ll write it down, and then I’ll cal the AG. He got mad and said go ahead and call them. They will tell you you should be in jail right now. After I told him I already saw a scam alert on Facebook he hung up.
I called him back again, and he answered Sheriff’s Office. I said why did you hang up? I need that info to report to the AG. He hung up again. I continued to call him back over the next few hours just to get his prerecorded voicemail, Marshall’s Office.
I decided to text him the link to the scam message I found online. Believe it or not he responded via text this morning saying Stop being a *** a.m. nd grow up *** man.
Can you believe that. This guy has nerve. Know if I can just get the attorties to actually do something. As of right now his number is still in operation with voicemail, and all. ?+1 (501) 209-2388?
