My parents were looking to adopt a puppy. They went to petzlover.com and found a puppy at shihtzubreedingfamily.com. They sent an email to the group via the "contact us" feature and they were then emailed by [email protected] and told to send $700 via Zelle which would pay for the adoption fee and shipping. They unfortunately did that and they then received an email the next day from the courier ([email protected]) and told they needed a special crate which would cost $1,500. They tried contacting the breeder but the breeder kept saying they had to work with the courier. Luckily, they didn't send any money to the courier because it was clear at this point that this was a scam. They're trying to get their $700 back but it's unlikely.
