I was looking to adopt a papillon puppy as a gift for my mother-in-law so I searched papillon for adoption on google. This website popped up on my search and it was a very nice website. And they had a few puppies for sale. The price was around $800, which I thought was too good to be true. I tried to see where they were located on the website, but that was no where to be found. I tried to search them on Facebook and I couldn't find it. So, even though I had three red flags I decided to email them anyway with the email on their website. To my surprise I received an immediate response and was excited about it. They wrote me a long emailing saying how wonderful the dog was and how well they take care of their puppies. The email sounded too good to be true, but I proceeded to reply and answer the questions he had for me in order to "approve me" to adopt the puppy. After that email he replied right away and said I was approved and for me to give him my address and to tell him what bank I used so he could send me payment instructions. I got a bad feeling after that email, so I decided to research more and when I tried to search the webpage on my computer instead of my phone a disclaimer popped up saying that the webpage was a scam. Then I search further and found out they are on a pet scam list. I immediately emailed him back and said I was no longer interested and decided to go another route. I didn't get a reply after that. I'm happy I was able to avoid the scam, but I want to help make sure no one else falls for these scams.
