I ordered two ShopSafeCam360 bulbs plus a 1 dollar priority shipping fee last November of 2022 on the 16th. I received two separate emails with order confirmation numbers but after 5 days I still hadn’t received confirmation of shipment so I tried looking into it and sent an email to their customer service email address [email protected]
Dated 11/21/22 a rep emailed back and wrote:
“ I want to thank you for placing an order with us! Your business means a lot to us.
We are working really hard to get your orders out as quickly as possible. Unfortunately due to overwhelming amount of orders, our warehouse is a little behind on shipping out orders.
We will add your order on a priority list, once your order ships you'll receive an email with your tracking information. If you've already received an email with tracking information your order is in progress and will be on its way to you within the next week or less.
Thank you for your patience.”
Dated 11/24/22 I received two shipment notification emails with the same tracking number but the USPS site stated tracking number wasn’t in the system.
As of December 1st I received the two bulb cameras. I followed the instructions for setup but found it peculiar that in the description when I clicked and purchased the bulbs there was no mention of having to download and install an app along with using my computer router numbers to access the use of said app.
So the problem I had with this was that there was an issue potentially with ip address security. And once you did the manual setup then it interferes with any other Bluetooth and WI-FI connections in the area.
After several attempts at establishing a connection, the camera which finally turns on was all pixelated and very slow. Too slow to capture an image and everything is upside down because as the description implies it is to be used installed into a light fixture.
At Modern Life Trend shopsafecam360.com AD states:
The SafeCam 360 is the perfect solution for anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use security camera! What you need to do is just to screw it into a powered E27 light socket and then follow the manual to set up. The installation is as easy as replacing a light bulb! With built-in features, this camera will provide you with a 360° degrees panoramic viewing area which can be monitored via your phone in a real-time, as well as comes with function to scare off intruders to safeguard your home, office, garage in 1080P resolution!
Granted we had intended to install it outside in a fixture pointing down but first wanted to see how it “worked” & “easy to set up” for us indoors before installing it outdoors.
We weren’t satisfied and per the website we were told that we had 30 days to return. I repackaged the items and called ASAP (that afternoon) and spoke to a customer representative (haven’t been able to reach them since that day). I asked to return them and they asked me why, I told them that they will not work for me and they said they would send me a RMA# to return them and on the site it stated to return them with a RMA# included in the returning packages and they would refund my money.
I received an email (while on the phone) stating the return for one bulb. I then requested that I needed to return the second bulb (SafeCam360) and received a second RMA#. Promptly afterwards I received these emails, I replied that I needed the returning address. They told me it over the phone (I repeated it back to them). And I also received two emails mentioning the RMA# and the returning address*
*Important! (NO mention whatsoever of needing a TRACKING Number) neither on the website returns policy or in the emails dated December 1, 2022.
My shipment of my returned product via USPS was delayed until December 23rd (crazy time of year plus family sick with COVID, my cousin passed away and subsequent funeral and my dog literally chewed up one of the boxes I’m not joking! ) and because of that I let it go a few weeks before I decided to look into the status of my return.
It was dated January 25,2023 I emailed them again at the same address & received a reply but they didn’t mention anything about me receiving my package or that their return policy was changed to the effect of that Now they needed a TRACKING number with NO mention of the RMA numbers that they had sent me beforehand.
Thus began a string of emails from January 25 - February 22 (about seven altogether) Their responses acted almost oblivious to my questions about why I hadn’t received my refunds!?!
I even attached my original email with the RMA numbers included and the exact amount (minus shipping fees of course) they owed me in return of their (dissatisfactory) products. The amount of $46 plus the $29.99 (bought one at the price of $45.99 and they “Up-Sell” (their name for it on my invoice) for $29.99 plus the $1 priority shipping fee. Total of 76.99
minus the $1 = $75.99 (I’m here doing the math for them because this is getting ridiculous) and warn them that if they don’t return my request for the refund I will report them. The last time I heard from them was February 22,2023 and still NOTHING! Only the following:
Hello Allison,
Thank you for contacting Customer Care.
If you do not find the tracking number, please call usps and try to get it from them.
Can you kindly provide the tracking # and shipper so i can check and once we received the item, we will go ahead in processing the refund.
Should you have any other questions, please feel free to contact our customer care at +1 833-656-1790 to speak with a live representative.
Have a wonderful day!
I did attempt to call the number and interestingly didn’t reach ANYONE!
I have now checked the website again and it has been altered and when I typed in my email and last name to FIND my account and orders ONLY my $1 priority shipping fee shows up???? Dubious ??
Why is there a $1 priority fee listed on my account but NO products????
Very suspect.
FYI the amount I listed in my complaint includes the initial payment amount of $55.99 First SafeCam360
29.99 Up Sell Second SafeCam360
1.00 priority shipping fee
Because of the hassle and emotional & mental distress I am seeking restitution.
