Was sent an email by a person named Vanessa Jacoby from Shoreline Biosciences offering a job as a remote data entry clerk, based on the information that I had on LinkedIn. We set up an interview on RingCentral, it was all chat based, which was strange. The benefits seemed too good to be true, and I was offered the job the next day. They sent a real looking offer letter, and told me I needed to do an essay, which I did. They then sent me a check for around $5000 to purchase the necessary supplies, which I deposited. My bank had a hold on the money until the next week, and Vanessa seemed impatient. When I tried to email her again later, Gmail couldn't identify the server. Shoreline Biosciences has a real website, and Vanessa Jacoby is a real person who works there, however I believe these people are using their information for some form of scam.
