Type of a scam Tech Support
After dialing the 800 number, I spoke to a representative named Jason at extension 366 from technical support, he stated that he was working for Microsoft and that he was going to assist me with trying to get the situation rectified. He then after I turned down the volume, stated that he would need to link to my computer to do troubleshooting on my computer. He viewed the Task Manager, pulled up an image name on my computer and stated that, that was the exact company or person trying to get into my network to steal my information. One of the links off of the command screen; which shows my IP addresses; in my computer states that there is an established link, which he claims was the culprits trying to get my information. He also stated it was called Blackhead Malware as the name of the virus that was on my computer.
the took my money, but did not perform a service. The website states they are out of California, but when I spoke to the representative, he stated that they were located in India and there is no way to contact anyone from California on the website.
I paid $199.99 and they got disconnected from my computer twice, so they couldn't finish getting information off of my network. So they called me back and I wouldn't answer but to inquire about retrieving my money back and the technician, Jason said they were closed and I would have to contact the Billing Manager on Monday. So I called my bank and cancelled the card that I used.
I will speak to the manager on tomorrow, but if I do not receive the refund immediately then I will contact my lawyer. They were not professional even for a con artist. As well, the wesite does not allow you contact them via the internet as the sites have no "s" at the end of the addresses as the billing address that was used to give me this receipt.
