I inquired about purchasing a kitten from a cattery that was willing to ship to Canada. Initially I was a little hesitant as the website was in broken English however I didn’t want to judge based on English not being their first language. She sent me pictures of her available kittens. I didn’t want to purchase right away so I offered to put a deposit on the next litter. I paid through PayPal using family and friends as requested by her and I stupidly did and the payment went through. The next thing she did was say that there is a $300 shipping charge which seemed normal but then she wanted me to pay half of the full purchase amount so she could start the paperwork. I agreed and she sent me a different email address to use through PayPal. The payment did not go through thank goodness. She asked me if I could do Bitcoin or western union and then sent me a name and address to use for western union which was in Cameroon. When I asked about this she said her son was on a peace keeping mission there and wanted me to pay him directly. At this point I read through her testimonials on the website and all were in the same broken English as the website and communication with her. I told her that I was canceling my purchase and would like my deposit back. She then said that she would send me the kitten if I paid her $250 and then I could pay the rest when I got the kitten. She is still trying to strike a deal with me trying to get any other amount I might send her.
