I got a "Final Notice" letter that has the debt amount listed and that we maybe eligible for total loan forgiveness. Thinking it was from the Federal student loan department I called. They had me change my password and got my bank account number. Direct payments to them for the service would have started Sept. 15th. I soon afterword discovered that one did not have to pay for this service and it was a scam. I changed my password at student aid.gov and have had to change my checking account number.

Have any of you had anything to your information after you gave our your personal information?

Did any of you guys experience problem after giving your personal Information?

I got a letter in the mail saying “Final Notice” about possible student loan payment reduction, it had studentaid.gov on it, it said to call the student loan assistance department for help, it had an accurate estimate of my student loan amount. When I called they asked my to login to my studentaid account and email them my student loan data, then asked me a lot of questions about personal information including ssn, driver license, employer, income, tax info, etc. When they asked for my bank account for payments to proceed (8 payment of $289) I realized something is wrong and pressed them why they need payments. I found out they are Signature Processing Services, not the Dept of Ed and hung up but I’m worried about my personal info now

Same thing just happened to me:( I am worried about my personal information now!

I had them call and get information on me . I didn’t give them my bank account but other personal information like my ssn and the file uploaded from fasfa . Is there any precautions I can do to make sure nothing will happen with the info I gave them? Will I be ok ?

This fraudulent company sent me a letter in the mail regarding my student loans. She asked me for my reference, and then she asked if I had a bank account. (Red Flag). I told her that I didn’t and she (Estrellita Granados) goes on to say that she couldnt help if I didnt have a bank account. And then she wanted me to log into my FSA Account talking about she needed to verify that the information she had was correct. I nicely explained to her that I didn’t fill comfortable going on further with her. And I have been scammed before (lost my home) due to someone taking advantage of me. She tried to insured me that everything was legit. But I was buying it or having it. Thank God I stopped when I did. PLEASE BEWARE

They asked for my driver's license, ssn and date of birth to consolidate loans and loan forgiveness but said I would have to pay a consolidation fee everything else would be waived

I received a letter to my home address in with my married name. My student loan is still in my maiden name and the address I use for them is my PO BOX. Red flags went up. I read, and reread the letter. It looks so legit. I may be eligible for this or that. They were even accurate with my student loan balance (rounded). I pulled up my account in Mohela, which is where my student load is with DOE. Things looked ok in there. Then finally..bottom of the letter I read what SPS stood for...googled and here I am. I hate to see people being scammed. While I'm going to shred this and throw it away, I did want to mention my situation to add to the list. So sad how close we have to watch out for things.

Scammers! Even Fox News wrote about it!

https://www.fox6now.com/news/warning-student-debt-relief-letter-help-fee

Fox News reported about this company. They even show the letter this company sends that tricks people into calling.

They take your SS number and drivers license number only to say you need to pay them immediately. $280 for six months….. and they take cash app LOL what a joke!

Brandon Dennis Lewis from Las Vegas owns the company according to the state of Nevada. He should be ashamed for running something so malicious. I pray he does not use my information and other’s info for malicious things.

I also almost fell for them. Trying to consolidate student loans. THEY ARE NOT THE GOVERNMENT> THEY WILL TRY TO CHARGE YOU for filing/processing you can do yourself.

I realized it was a scam when they promised that they would pay out my entire loan in order to consolidate it. Then said there were processing fees. Almost fell for this scam because of how legit the "final notice" letter looked. Don't call this company Signature Processing Services! They're not working for studentaid.gov or any loan servicer.

Unfortunately I didn't check on this on the ScamPulse.com website before sending my personal data file over. I'll definitely be watching my accounts now. I did NOT send my banking information. I had an uneasy feeling about this AFTER I had given some information and began looking if it was a scam. The caller made it seem like my Student Loan Debt would be completely paid off by this program. Unfortunately for her, I had recently completed a consolidation for the PSLF application, and the amount she told me was about $20,000 more than the consolidation paperwork said, so that was my initial red flag, but I had already foolishly given my SS number and Drivers License number. I didnt think anything of it, as I had used both of those on the PSLF waiver application and believed this to be an actual application, and I had a friend who was having someone help her fill out similar applications, so I originally though this was legitimate. She also said that my loans would be completely forgiven and would be handled by the Department of Education. She then brought up the cost and that it would be $280 per month. That's when I said I'd like to think things over, and she said alright have a nice day, and hung up. I'm relieved I didn't give any bank info, but nervous about my other information out there.

I got a "Final Notice" letter that has the debt amount listed and that we maybe eligible for total loan forgiveness. Thinking it was from the Federal student loan department I called. They had me change my password. They had me upload my student data info from student aid.gov. It was when she ( Janet) ask for my bank acc that something clicked. I hung up but unfortunately I had sent the personal info to her. Her email is [email protected].

The Letter in small print at the bottom identifies them as Signature Processing Services "SPS' ...a fee-based assistance to aid consumers in applying for government offered programs...etc.
