On Friday, June 7, 2019 I received a call around 1pm from a licensed real estate agent with the name Tara Joseph from a company called Signature Realty. She asked for me and quickly stated her purpose for the call. Basically she presented a scenario about my home being sold at an auction on Wednesday and she was wanting to talk about options that she would be able to provide. She mentioned the value of my home and the length of time I would have if I were to consider any of the options available. I quickly confirmed who she was and where she was calling from and also asked her if this was a joke. I let her go because I was terribly shaken up and physically shaking and returned home to call my mortgage company and reach out to a couple professional real estate friends. After discussing with my mortgage company over a period of a couple days I was reassured my home was never in foreclosure status and I have since received a Verification of Mortgage form. In addition, I had my title searched and spoke to a person affiliated with the Auction process in Genesee County and again my home was never on a list. Not sure how my name became associated with this company or this unprofessional person. I want to be sure that this doesn’t happen to someone else. This not only impacted my sense of peace but scared my youngest child. I plan to file a complaint with my Police Dept.
