My son was emailed a ransom type letter- very criminally worded that had a personally used address (not current but active for my office- so they got it somewhere correct?) with his correct name asking for him to send $2,000 and they won’t release all the info they’ve gathered from his searches and watching him through his web cam, suggesting tape on the cameras isn’t such a bad idea, suggesting adult things have been done and sharing would be detrimental to his reputation and that they’ll share it online with all contacts and the neighborhood.

It’s false, we didn’t reply, but others might not realize it’s false - it seemed oddly targeted.

Sent via email with his last name,first name and a first sentence of calling (his number) or visiting (an address we know) would be better but….

Scare tactics.
