I'm looking for work on indeed. I received an email response for a Data Input Specialist. I was offered a job, and filled out W4 forms, and signed a letter of employment. They are mailing me a check to purchase supplies. I did however call Silverlode as they are a very real company, and asked to speak with H.R.. The lady then asked if it involved a message from the Signal app. I said yes, and she informed me that it was not their company, and it was a scam.

The scammer went by the name of Gregory Cains, posing to be the Hiring Manager at Silverlode Consulting (https://silverlodeconsulting,com) the email sent by Mary Wombles advised me to download an app on my phone called SINGLE so that i could proceed with a chat interview. The scammer asked me to introduced myself providing him with my name and location. (which i did) He then told me about the company and what the company had to offer and that i would make a good fit, he told me about all the benefits the company would offer, my responsibilities in the role that i never applied for, He then told me that all training would be conducted on line. HE proceeded to ask me the size of company i would want to work for and i told him that i didn't have a preference, The scammer asked how i would prefer to receive payment and i told him weekly, He asked what bank i work with and i gave him my bank name and state( I FELL FOR THE SCAMM) he asked for my availability to start and i gave him a date. He asked for my full address where he could mail me a start up check to acquire some essential material that i would need for my position that i never applied for. After i got home i did some research of the company he gave me and just out of curiosity i felt that perhaps this scammer was using Silverlode as a scheme. I proceeded to call Silverlode Consulting and asked if they new anyone by the name of Gregory Cain and the operator informed me that it was a scammer using their company to scamm people to give him confidential information about myslef. She then prompted me to report him to BBB. She informed me that several people had called Silverlode Consulting reporting of being scammed.
