Thank you for your interest in learning more about this position. Simcere Pharmaceutical Group is one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of branded generic pharmaceuticals including antibiotics, anti-stroke medications, anti-inflammatory drugs, anti-cancer medications, and more in China, offering unbeatable pricing and excellent service. We require a representative to act in the capacity of an account receivable agent in North America (USA and Canada) on a 12-month contract basis. As an Account Receivable, you will be responsible for collection of all account receivables due to Simcere Pharmaceutical Group in the region to directly support sales operations.
We are presently experiencing difficulties in transacting business (i.e. processing payments from our customers) in North America. This challenge has not only limited our effort in penetrating the pharmaceutical market in the above region as desired, but has also lead to unprompted remittance of balance payments for products supplied. As a result of this problem, we have customers in above region that has not met with the normal payment schedule of 30 days after confirming receipt of products delivered to them in good condition. We have approximately $3,200,000.00 worth of payment with different customers from different regions in the United States of America and Canada currently owed to Simcere Pharmaceutical Group.
Having looked at various options of tackling this drawback and based on research and past experiences, it is our belief that having a representative/account receivable agent in the same region with our customers, it becomes very easy for them to comply and pay in due time, that is why we require a Representative, who can easily communicate with our customer via email and telephone. We shall provide you with invoices as well as figures for all outstanding payments after you have been fully certified as our company representative with our legal binding representative employment deed (Memorandum of Understanding).
With your acknowledgement to this email, our enrollment correspondence will be sent to you, which you are to confirm your full contact information in the right manner. We confirm in good faith that as compensation for your service, you/your company will be entitled to 5% commission on every completed transaction (i.e. 5% commission from any payment made to you/your company on behalf of Simcere Pharmaceutical Group) plus $5,000 monthly allowance (payable every 30 days starting from the date the contract agreement is signed by both parties) to cover out-of-pocket expenses such as telephone bill, fax, etc.

Salary: $60,000 yearly, Plus, benefits of 5% commission on every completed transaction.
Probation: Organization’s probationary policy is a 30-day period
Hours of Work: Position requires self-preferred communication method and timing per week but basically requires 3-5 hours weekly.
Reporting Relationship: This position will report to the International Recruitment Consultant/Manager, Ken Isao
Following the initial probationary period, a progression and performance review will be conducted on a quarterly basis to assess performance to-date, and to clarify or modify this arrangement, as the need may arise.
This arrangement may be terminated by either party, upon notice, in writing to either party with notice that complies with Employment Standards (or Labor Standards) for Your Province.

The offer was for an Accounts Payable position (I have no background in that) and consisted of $60k for 5 -8 hrs of work a week plus 5% commission on every invoice that was received plus a $5,000 monthly allowance for out of pocket expenses (heating. electrical, phone etc). When I kept asking for a meeting to discuss the details as the approach seemed highly unusual and frankly too good to be true. "Sam Hong" sent me this email:
