Texted me a few months ago and today
"Katie" and SimplyFastSold
Simply a Scam - Reply "Stop"
First saying "Hi [my First name]."
The next day "Hello, I'm trying to reach [my First and Last name] Is this the correct number?"
Today "I'm looking for the owner of [my address]. Is that you?"
I replied, "Hello, who is this?"
Response "Hi, this is Katie from SimplyFastSold. I was wondering if you have plans to sell [my sddress]
I said I will not be selling and sent a separate text saying "Stop", to unsubscribe.
I then receive the following message: "You have successfully been unsubscribed. You will not receive any more messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe."
I think they are using this process to verify the information and match the correct name to an address. Their website is very cookie cutter and the 'waffle' which should provide a dropdown menu of the site is just an image and has no function. The only thing you can do on their website is give them more of your information. For those of you wondering how they got your address, the County Appraisal District website gives that information free to the public. If you own your home, anyone can search for your Name and Address. Then all they have to do is look for a listing of your name and phone number, then contact you to verify the connection. You can go to the Davidson County Appraisal site, http://www2.co.davidson.nc.us/taxnet/RealEstate.aspx site, for example, to search for a property, who the owner is, how much it is worth and when they purchased it. Along with other information. All counties have a site like this.
Hope this helps someone!

One message was "Oh, and Xx just in case you were wondering: we are set up to purchase the home virtually. This means we can get the entire purchase done over the phone and using a traveling notary. I'm happy to jump on a call and discuss the exact process with you. Are you available for a quick chat?"
After another request asking who it was I got "My name is Katie from SimplyFastSold. Would you like to sell (my address)"
I told her no and not to text again. We shall see. It does make me nervous.

The company website is a shell site, and their contact us and privacy pages do not exist, though there are fake links at the bottom of the page. There are other scam alerts online mentioning this exact scenario.
Take care of your privacy & God Bless!
