Type of a scam Online Purchase
I received a call from a company called Biotin Complex Company by a woman who sounded like middle eastern /indian accent and gave me the name Andy Lopez. She stated she is the Account Billing Manage. I noticed her calasically I can get 3 hair care products for a trial period of 14 days after each product is $89.52 each. I fl came from a 310 area code. (strange)
She claims that I made a online purchase of 3 hair care products costing $89.52 each after a 14-day trial period and it turns into a hair care subscription. I felt like it was scam/fraud so I asked her to confirm some information about where it was sent to. She was able to confirm my name, address, phone number and email, the basic things companies can often sell, so I hung up on her.
She called again September, 14, 2022 in the afternoon. I used that chance to get more information like the name of her company, her name, and phone number. 877-205-7152 to call her back at. She said I made the purchase with a credit card. I only have debit bank card. I don't have any credit cards only debit cards.
The last four numbers of the credit card she gave me was 3445. I contacted my bank that seemed like it had those last four digits and explained what happened. I had a card that ended in 3445 but had it reported it stolen - JUNE 26, 2018. The lady Andy Lopez said the products was delivered JULY 26.2020 to my home. I had my bank search for the name Biotin Complex Company around the date of July 26, 2020. She confirmed no charges was made from that company and said that my card ending in 3445 was reported stolen JUNE 26, 2018. Can you please help me? This person has my name, phone, address and a very old Email address. She demanded I pay $89.52 x3 bottles total $268.59 and said she is escalating this bill. She also said that it was a subscription and past bottles that were placed on hold will be sent to me forcing a subscription. I told her I don't want the products and she said the only way I can get rid of the subscription is to pay the $268.59.
